Associations between suicidal behavior and intelligence and emotional control, respectively, with adjustment for each other and for childhood SES. ORs with 95% CIs for suicidal behavior are given for a one step decrease on the five-level scales of intelligence and emotional control for the separate follow-up periods. The time periods end at about 10, 20, 30 and 40 years after conscription, respectively, and correspond with approximate age intervals of 22–28 years, 29–38 years, 39–48 years and 49–58 years.
