Note: The data source is the China Education Panel Survey (CEPS) 2013–2014. The cognitive test score denotes a student’s test score obtained in the standard cognitive tests conducted by the survey project. The average test score denotes the average test score of three core subjects (Chinese, math, and English) conducted by each school. Chinese test score, math test score, and English test score denote the test scores in Chinese, Math, and English, respectively.
