Surfactant-associated protein A (SP-A) was reduced in VEA-exposed mouse lung homogenates. (A) Surfactant-associated protein A (SP-A) protein abundance in mouse lung homogenates from C57Bl/6 background male and female mice was determined by immunoblot analysis. (B) The quantified results are expressed as means ± SEM. Significance was determined by one-way ANOVA with Bonferroni’s correction for multiple comparisons. * p < 0.05 vs. air. p > 0.05 were considered not significant and were not denoted with asterisks (n = 3 per group for either sex). The same blot was probed for ACE2, TMPRSS2, Furin, and SP-A. Thus, the same beta-actin band (for males) appears in both Figure 7 (SP-A) and Figure 10 (SARS-CoV-2 related proteins).
