Insects were treated with either an empty needle (N), 10 µL of either brain heart infusion broth (BHI), 105 CFU/larva of test bacterial strain CD105LC2 (B), 106 PFU/larva of the 4-phage cocktail (P), a co-infection of the 4-phage cocktail and bacteria (P+B) or remained untreated (-) at the time points shown. Insects were culled at each relevant time point by incubating them at −20 °C for 20 min.
