Effect of Piperine treatment on DMH-administered pathological changes in rat colon tissues. Photomicrographs of H&E staining of histological sections of colon tissue depicting different experimental groups: group-I indicate normal histo-architecture of colon sections. Group-II shows extensive disintegration of normal architecture in DMH administered group. In groups III and IV piperine treatment showed protection against piperine-induced pathological changes. Both the doses of piperine maintained the integrity of mucous membrane, goblet cells and colonic crypts (n = 10), magnification: 40×.
