In vitro differentiation of M1 and M2 macrophages. a Human monocyte-derived macrophages were differentiated to M1 and M2 phenotype in the presence of LPS (50 ng/ml) and IFNγ (20 ng/ml) or IL-4 (20 ng/ml), IL-10 (20 ng/ml) and TGFß (20 ng/ml), respectively. The cell surface expressions of CD80, CD206 and CD209 were measured on the two cell types by flow cytometry.
