The effect of zinc on TER (A) and ¹⁴C-mannitol flux (B) as well as the effect of quercetin on TER (C) and ¹⁴C-mannitol flux (D) are shown. Cells were seeded on day 0 at 2.0 × 10⁶ cells per PCF. Treatment with the appropriate zinc or quercetin concentration occurred on day 6 as described in ‘Materials and methods’ section. At 24 and 48 h post-treatment, TER and J_m measurements were recorded as described in ‘Materials and methods’ section.
