The multidimensional pathological characteristics in AD. The major hallmarks of AD include Aβ and hyperphosphorylated tau proteins called NFTs. However, the pathophysiology of AD is complex and multi-dimensional including cholinergic neuronal damage, cholinergic dysfunction, neuronal inflammation and loads of oxidative stress.
