Crocetin inhibits MPP+ induced inflammation in BV2 cells. BV2 cells were treated with 0.5 mM MPP+ for 6 h, and then 2.5 μM, 5 μM, and 10 μM crocetin were added and incubated for another 24 h. (a) Cell viability was determined using the CCK-8 assay. (b) The protein level of iNOS and COX-2 were measured using Western blot. (c) After different stimulation, the mRNA level of IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α, iNOS, and COX-2 in the BV2 cells was measured using RT-qPCR. Data are expressed as the mean ± standard deviation, and statistical analysis was performed using a one-way analysis of variance followed by Tukey's post hoc test. ##P < 0.01 versus control; P < 0.05, ∗∗P < 0.01 versus MPP+.
