Sections stained with Gomori’s trichrome are shown for sham (A) and cryo-infarcted (B) samples from n=6 animals. Green staining shows fewer collagen fibrils in sham sections, whereas the fibrils (pointed arrows) in infarcted tissue are more concentrated and widespread. There was a statistical significance in the amount of collagen ((Mean ± SD) measured amongst both groups (C).
