PDGFRβ regulates TGFβ-induced protein synthesis and hypertrophy of mesangial cells. Mesangial cells were treated with 0.1 µm JNJ (panels A and B) or transfected with siRNAs against PDGFRβ or scrambled RNA (C and D) along with myr-Akt and PRAS40 (Thr-246A) as indicated (E and F) prior to incubation with 2 ng/ml TGFβ for 24 h.
