Ulinastatin inhibits oxidative stress and inflammation induced by cerebral I/R. SD rats were divided into three groups: the sham, MCAO, and ulinastatin groups. Cerebral I/R injury was induced by MCAO. Ulinastatin was administered at a dosage of 300,000 U/kg 15 min after surgery. Serum was collected from the blood of the rats, and the concentrations of (A) SOD, (B) MDA, (C) GSH, and (D) IL-6, IL-1β, and IL-18 were determined. The bars show means ± SD of eight independent experiments. **, P<0.01 compared with the sham group; ^##, P<0.01 compared with the MCAO group.
