Histologically, extragenital lichen sclerosus is characterized by hyperkeratosis (+), epidermal atrophy with flattening of rete ridges (*), edema in the superficial dermis (#), and homogenized collagen in the dermis with subtotal loss of skin adnexal structures (**).
