Representative microscopic images of false-positive (A) and false-negative (B) cases. (A) Reactive histiocytes show abundant, eosinophilic cytoplasm and can be misinterpreted as metastatic carcinoma. (B) A very small focus of metastatic carcinoma (approximately 200 μm in the greatest dimension) is seen and which was missed by all four of the teams.
