Quantification in kidney tissue after adrenalectomy of: (A) malondialdehyde (MDA); (B) glutathione (GSH); (C) superoxide dismutase (SOD); and (D) catalase (CAT). ADX induced a significant increase in MDA level and decreased GSH level in the untreated ADX group compared to the naïve and sham operated control rats. Myrcene treatment in ADX group rats significantly decreased the concentration of MDA, and increased the level of GSH. ADX significantly decreased the activity of SOD and CAT compared to the naïve and sham control rats. Myrcene treatment significantly up regulated SOD and CAT activity compared to the untreated ADX rats.
