Experimental pulmonary metastasis mouse protocol. 3–5×10⁶ CMT-93 cells were injected into the tail vein of 6-week-old female mice (C57BL/6 mice or SP-D knockout mice). At 8 and 10 weeks after the injection, the incidence of pulmonary metastases was evaluated by in vivo micro CT. All mice were killed at 12 weeks immediately after the last CT examination and the lungs were extracted. SP-D, surfactant protein D.
