Resistance phenotype of TILLING mutants. (a) Plant size reduction for infected oilseed rape candidates compared to the susceptible cultivar Express 617 at 35 dpi. With a 60.5% stunting degree, Express 617 is in the middle field among the investigated plants. 1484_3 and 1510_4, and above all 1873_4 and 1873_3 show clear reduction in stunting, demonstrating an enhanced resistance against Vl43. (b) Results of qPCR to quantify Verticillium longisporum DNA in roots of selected resistant oilseed rape mutants 1873_3 and 1873_4 at 42 dpi in comparison with the susceptible Express 617 cultivar.
