| German Regional Associations of Statutory Health Insurance Accredited Physicians (also referred to in text as PA regions): To be noted: -This paper makes a distinction between the 16 German federal states and the 17 PA regions. Although Germany is divided into 16 federal states, the areas Northrhine and Westphalia-Lippe within the state Northrhine-Westphalia are represented by two independent PA regions. -Dispensing data have been provided/analysed per PA region and the univariate regression study has been conducted with data at the state level. This was due to limitations in data availability for the univariate regression analyses. -When referring to regions formerly forming East Germany, we include Brandenburg, Mecklenburg Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, but not Berlin. This is because we do not have sub regional data to analyze uptake differences between areas formerly forming East and West Berlin. |
