NIH research project funding, categorized as R01 and year 1 of support, retrieved from NIH RePORT (Table 1) using either breast cancer AND mouse AND xenograft or breast cancer AND organoid between 2014 and 2019. Grants were further scrutinized to ensure that breast cancer was the focus of the research, and that either xenografts or organoids were one of the methodologies described. Total funding for grants that fulfilled these criteria was calculated.
