Indications for performing caesarean section (CS) among women who gave birth at Hawassa University Referral Hospital, Ethiopia, 2018–2019. Failure to progress means prolonged labour, cervical arrest and failed induction; fetal compromise means fetal distress, cord prolapse and intrauterine growth restriction; obstructed labour means cephalopelvic disproportion, macrosomia and unspecified disproportions; malpresentation means transverse, oblique or brow; others include post-term pregnancy, premature rupture of membrane, multiple pregnancies and polyhydramnios/oligohydramnios.
