Figure 2

Relative proportions of the concentrations of InsP3-5 isomers and myo-inositol in the digesta of the crop (a), jejunum (b), terminal ileum (c), and ceca (d) of two laying hen strains (LB and LSL) aged 31 weeks. The sum of the concentrations of InsP3-5 isomers and myo-inositol on a molar basis is defined as 100%. The InsP pattern in the crop is mainly derived from the InsP present in the feedstuff. The pattern became more diverse in the jejunum and even more in the ileum before it got less diverse in the ceca.
