The image registration process. To correct for between-scan movement, the visit 2, T1-weighted, axial STIR image was registered to the corresponding visit 1 image. The resulting affine image transform was then applied to all visit 2 image sets. Subsequently, to correct for within-scan motion, all image datasets in each visit were aligned to the STIR image for that visit using rigid registration
