Effect of phenolic extracts from calla lily or cabbage leaves on the growth of Pectobacterium strains PC16 (a,c) and WPP14 (b,d). Bacteria were grown at 28 °>C for 16 h, with or without plant extract, under continuous shaking (150 rpm). Growth was assessed every hour and is presented as absorbance at 600 nm (OD600 nm). Experiments were repeated twice with four replicates per treatment; similar results were observed in the two repetitions (bar = mean ± SE; n = 8).
