Altered HOXB7 expression in ESCC confers a varied response to cisplatin. (a) HOXB7 expression was detected in a panel of four ESCC cell lines at levels of mRNA and protein. According to the relative expression level, they are sorted as KYSE150 > KYSE180 > KYSE70 > KYSE450. (b) These four ESCC cell lines were treated with gradient concentration of cisplatin (0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8,16,32 μg/mL) for 24 hours, and the cell viability was assessed by using the CCK8 assay. It was shown that KYSE450 was most sensitive, with IC50 = 5.051 μg/mL (95%CI 5.902–7.718), and KYSE 150 was relatively resistant, with IC50 = 15.110 μg/mL (95%CI 13.740–16.620). It was considered that a high expression of HOXB7 was associated with cisplatin resistance. This experiment was performed thrice in triplicates. () KYSE 70, () KYSE 150, () KYSE 180, and () KYSE 450.
