False colors represent neuro-activity within each spatial bin, which is the mean spike frequency (Hz) at all tracking points in each bin. Spatial information content (IC) was calculated based on well-established methods (Markus et al., 1994). The ICs of unit 1 in bee # 140409 and unit 1 in bee # 141204 were 0.009 and 0.003, indicating no location-predictive (or so-called “place cell”) property in these units.
