Clustering of protein markers of kidney injury reported from other mammals. Hierarchical clustering was used on 38 urine proteins detected in sea lion urine and considered as markers of kidney injury from human or domestic veterinary studies. Log2 fold-change values are Lepto/Control. Weighted spectral counts, a correlate of protein abundance were normalized using the membership function (normalized values are 0 to 1 on the color bar y-axis). Bold indicates differentially abundant proteins (Wilcoxon rank sum using weighted spectral counts, Benjamini–Hochberg adjusted p-value <0.05). AGT (angiotensinogen), ALB (albumin), ALPL (alkaline phosphatase, liver/bone/kidney), AMBP (alpha-1-microglobulin/bikunin precursor), ANPEP (alanyl aminopeptidase, membrane), B2M (beta-2-microglobulin), CLU (clusterin), CST3 (cystatin C), CTGF (connective tissue growth factor), EGF (epidermal growth factor), FABP1 (fatty acid binding protein 1), FABP2 (fatty acid binding protein 2), FABP3 (fatty acid binding protein 3), FABP4 (fatty acid binding protein 4), FABP5 (fatty acid binding protein 5), FABP9 (fatty acid binding protein 9), GGT1 (gamma-glutamyltransferase 1), GSTA3 (glutathione S-transferase alpha 3), GSTP1 (glutathione S-transferase pi 1), HAVCR1 (hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 1; alternative symbol, KIM1), HEXB (hexosaminidase subunit beta), HP (haptoglobin), IGFBP7 (insulin like growth factor binding protein 7), IL18 (interleukin 18), LCN2 (lipocalin 2; alternative symbol, NGAL), RBP2 (retinol binding protein 2), RBP4 (retinol binding protein 4), SPP1 (secreted phosphoprotein 1), TF (transferrin), TFF3 (trefoil factor 3), TIMP1 (TIMP metallopeptidase inhibitor 1), TIMP2 (TIMP metallopeptidase inhibitor 2), TNFRSF12A (TNF receptor superfamily member 12A), UMOD (uromodulin), VCAM1 (vascular cell adhesion molecule 1), VNN1 (vanin 1). Values based on the walrus and Weddell sea lion database are displayed.
