Education level (Higher)denotes degree/college level and above. Household income is equivalised for UK participants, total for US participants. Subjective social status is rated on a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high). Inhibitory control and working memory measures only available in a sub-sample of UK participants. Stroop interference is calculated as the difference between the median response times (milliseconds) of incongruent trials and congruent trials for correct trials only in the Stroop task (a larger interference score is indicative of poorer inhibition). Stroop proportion correct is proportion of trials answered without error. Two error maximum length is the last digit-span a participant got correct before making two consecutive errors in the backwards digit span test. Maximum length is the largest number of digits a participant recalled correctly during all trial in the backwards digit span test.
