Localization of 1.688 arrays in euchromatin of polytene chromosomes for nine Drosophila species from the melanogaster group. FISH using species specific probes was performed on salivary gland polytene chromosome from D. melanogaster, D. simulans, D. sechellia, D. erecta, D. yakuba, D. eugracilis.
