a–cTreatment means with no common superscript within each column for each parameter differ significantly (P ≤ 0.05).

1

Treatment means for hen BW were calculated with n = 20 for each 2-wk interval from week 68 to 75 and for the 3-wk interval from weeks 76 to 78.

2

Treatment means for feed intake and feed conversion ratio at each age range were calculated with 20 replicates.

3

PC, positive control (nutrient-adequate diet with 3.5% Ca and 0.35% available P), NC1, negative control 1 (the PC reduced in Ca and available P by 0.187 and 0.159% of the diet, respectively); NC2, negative control 2 (the PC reduced in Ca and available P by 0.231 and 0.275% of the diet, respectively); and NC1 + BSP and NC2 + BSP, the NC diets supplemented with Buttiauxella sp. phytase at 600 FTU/kg.
