Suppressor of Ty 16 (Spt16) is essential for cell growth of lung cancer cells. A, A549, NCI‐H1299, and NCI‐H460 lung cancer cells were transfected with a control siRNA or two separate Spt16‐specific siRNA for 48 h. Cell extracts were then prepared and western blot analyses were performed with antibodies as indicated. This experiment was repeated three times independently. B, A549, NCI‐H1299, and NCI‐H460 lung cancer cells were transfected as in (A). MTT analyses were then performed. C, A549, NCI‐H1299, and NCI‐H460 lung cancer cells were transfected as in (A). Colony formation analyses were then performed. D, Spt16 stably depleted and control A549 cells were injected subcutaneously into six SCID/Beige mice, respectively.
