Cellular accumulation of Galuminox in LPS-treated mt-Keima transfected A549 cells: Images were acquired using a 60× objective in live mt-Keima transfected A549 cells following incubation either in absence (control) or presence of LPS (1 μg/mL) for 24 h. Following treatment with LPS, mt-Keima transfected A549 cells were incubated with Galuminox (20 μM) at 37 °C for 60 min. Top Panel: Control; Lower Panel: LPS treated. Galuminox preferentially detects mitochondrial ROS (see merged image of Galuminox with Keima 440 nm) in the cytoplasm (see also scatter plot with Pearson correlation coefficients; Figure S.2).
