Clinical diagnostic criteria for acute eosinophilic pneumonia
Febrile illness less than four weeks in duration
Hypoxemic respiratory failure
Diffuse pulmonary opacities on chest radiograph
Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) with cell count demonstrating >25% eosinophilia
Absence of other known causes for pulmonary eosinophilia
