Immunoblot analysis of xenograft tumor samples. We examined whether treatment with near‐infrared (NIR) irradiation also activated the DNA damage response in tumors. We showed that doxorubicin (DOX) increased the phosphorylation of p53 at Ser15, structural maintenance of chromosome (SMC) 1 at Ser966, and Chk1 at Ser317 in tumor samples. Similarly, NIR irradiation increased the phosphorylation of p53, SMC1, and Chk1. p‐, phosphorylated; ATM, ataxia‐telangiectasia mutated.
