During the study period, 5174 pregnant women visited to the university hospital. 448 pregnancies ended in spontaneous miscarriages or stillbirth, and 346 pregnant women delivered at other hospitals. A total of 4380 pregnant women who gave birth at the university hospital and their 4613 newborns who received PCR tests for CMV-DNA in the urine were enrolled. cCMV was diagnosed in 32 newborns (0.69%), including 20 newborns with symptomatic infection and 12 with asymptomatic infection.
