Measuring Reward Anticipation Using the Monetary Incentive Delay Task. To measure reward anticipation, we will use the monetary incentive delay task. This task requires the subject to respond to a stimulus as quickly as possible to win or avoid losing money. Gain trials are represented as orange, whereas loss trials are blue. Triangles represent large amounts, whereas squares small amounts. The gray circle represents neither gains or losses.
