Measuring the Effect of Social Context Using the Shared Reward Task. To measure the effect of social context, we use the shared reward task. This task consists of a card guessing game, with cards containing numbers from 1–9. During the Decision Phase, the participant will learn who will be their partner; a friend, stranger or computer. The subject must guess whether the subsequent card will be greater or less than 5. During the Outcome Phase, the card will be revealed, with a green arrow indicating a correct guess and a red arrow indicating a wrong guess.
