Host recognition rate in contact bioassays of female H. sylvanidis exposed to freshly killed larvae of aT. confusum (T. con) and b) O. surinamensis (O. sur) treated as follows (N = 30 per species and stimulus, 100% ≙ 30 successful host recognition events per stimulus, max. observation time = 300 s): (i) untreated, (ii) extracted with n-hexane, (iii) extracted with n-hexane and treated with crude larval extract of O. surinamensis (½ LE), (iv) extracted with n-hexane and treated with crude larval extract of T. confusum (½ LE). Host recognition rate was analyzed by the test for equality of proportion (T. confusum) or Fisher’s exact test (O. surinamensis) followed by pairwise comparison of proportions with Bonferroni-Holm correction. Different letters indicate significant differences at P < 0.05
