GW0742 regulates miR‐17‐5p expression. Control and miR‐17‐5p sensing constructs were transfected to PC12 cells. Cells were then treated with vehicle or 1 or 10 μmol/L of GW0742 for 24 h. Co‐transfection of sensor plasmids with 10 μmol/L of GW0742 significantly decreased expression of luciferase constructs compared to vehicle‐treated sensor group, indicating activation of miR‐17‐5p by GW0742.
