Diagnostic criteria possible sarcopenia: (1); sarcopenia: (1) + (2); severe sarcopenia: (1) + (2) + (3)

Probable sarcopenia is identified by Criterion 1; Diagnosis is confirmed by additional documentation of Criterion 2; If Criteria 1, 2, and 3 are all met, severe sarcopenia is considered. HS: handgrip strength; ASMI: appendicular skeletal muscle mass index; GS: gait speed.
