Decreasing the synaptic time constant τs increases the linearity of the average synaptic conductance Gavg as a function of the pre-synaptic neuron's spiking frequency fpre. Changing the network's maximum spiking frequency Fmax will change the specific value of τs, but the linearity δ varies in the same way.
