Effect of iron on MMP expression in human endometriotic cells. Human endometriotic 12Z cells were treated with iron (FeSO4: 50, 100, and 200 µM; FAC: 50, 100, and 200 µg/mL) for 24 h. (A) Real-time RT-PCR was performed to measure the mRNA levels of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in 12Z cells. (B) 12Z cells were treated with iron (FeSO4: 100 µM, FAC: 100 µg/mL) for 24 h in the presence of 10 µM of SB-3CT, a gelatinase (MMP-2 and MMP-9) inhibitor. Transwell migration assay was performed.
