The signals were band-pass filtered (2nd order Butterworth, 1–4 Hz cut-off) to examine the degree of phase-locking at low frequencies with increasing peak slow potassium conductance (gKslow). The phase portrait was constructed using data from 10 consecutive 1s epochs in the steady-state condition (epochs no. 101 to 110).
