Photograph of an in situ mite (Dermanyssus galllinae) aggregate, composed of different stages of D. gallinae more or less freshly fed. The mite droppings (black and white marks surrounding the aggregate) form fairly persistent marks on structural elements in the farms, lasting long after an infestation.
