CD56 is a marker for natural killer (NK), activated CD8 T cells, dendritic cells (DC); CA9 (carbonic anhydrase 9) and CA 12 are markers of hypoxia and low pH; IDO (Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase an immunosuppressive factor; PD-L1 (programmed death-protein 1 ligand) and CTLA-4 (cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4) are immune checkpoints; CD31 is a marker for endothelial cells; aSMA is a marker for cancer associated fibroblasts.
