a Biofilms for the ATCC 10832 (non-MRSA) strain was allowed to form on glass-bottomed chambers for 24 h prior to be treated with the indicated antimicrobials or their combinations (right set of panels) or the respective control-vehicles (left set of panels). The biofilms were subsequently stained using the LIVE/DEAD biofilm staining kit and confocal microscope images were taken using a 63× oil immersion objective. b Same as in a with the exception that the strain used was the MRSA strain ATCC 33591. Scale bars correspond to 10 μm. The control vehicles were the same as described in Figs. 1 and 2.
