Different best frequencies (from 3.2–14 kHz) were used in simulation of several different neurons. For the auditory nerve (AN) fiber model (Zilany et al. 2014), the fiber type was of medium spontaneous rate. CN, cochlear nucleus neuron; IC1, inferior colliculus neuron no. 1, simulating a band-enhanced neuron or a hybrid neuron; IC2, inferior colliculus neuron no. 2, simulating a band-suppressed neuron or a hybrid neuron; IN1, interneuron no. 1; IN2, interneuron no. 2.
For these synapses, the synaptic impulse responses were delta functions.
The value of this parameter was −6.0 for all model results except for those of Fig. 23, for which it was −2.5.
