Table 2.
Antimicrobial activities of topmouth culter LEAP-2 in vitro.
| Microorganisms | MIC (μg/ml) a | |
|---|---|---|
| LEAP-2 | Ampicillin | |
| Aeromonas sobria | 75 (16.1 μM) | >200 |
| Aeromonas hydrophila | 18.75 (4.0 μM) | >200 |
| Vibrio harveyi | 75 (16.1 μM) | 37.5 |
| Vibrio parahaemolyticus | 75 (16.1 μM) | 18.75 |
| Vibrio anguillarum | 150 (32.2 μM) | >200 |
| Vibrio vulnificus | 37.5 (8.1 μM) | >200 |
| Vibrio splendidus | 150 (32.2 μM) | >200 |
| Vibrio cholerae | 37.5 (8.1 μM) | >200 |
These concentrations represent mean values from three independent experiments. Topmouth culter LEAP-2 were dissolved in PBS (2 mg/ml), and a series of 2-fold peptide dilution were prepared with nutrient broth in 96-well plates (50 μl/well), and bacterial dilution (105 CFU/ml, 50 μl/well) was added. Ampicillin was used as positive control. After the plates were cultured at 37°C for 18 h, the MIC values were recorded.
MIC, minimal inhibitory concentration.
