Feasible intermediate states of the DNC in the catalytic cycle, in which A, P_M/P_R, F, and O_H were identified by resonance Raman experiments on A-type oxidases,^37–52 and their DNC’s are likely in the forms presented above. Although the Peroxo, Hydroperoxo, and F_H states (drawn in red frames) were not observed experimentally, they may exist for a short time. Tyr is the special Y288 in aa₃ and Y237 in ba₃.
