Root-mean-square error when comparing measured particle displacements to two models: smooth (d/L ∝ (tL/U)) and diffusive motion (d/L ∝ (tL/U)^1/2). Errors are typically much smaller for a smooth model, consistent with particle motion through an open space, not a porous one.
