Dialysis Patients Healthcare Team
Education
  • Instructions on hand and respiratory hygiene

  • Information on the COVID-19 virus

  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) training

  • Review of adequate hand-washing

Infection Control
  • Perform hand hygiene on arrival and departure from dialysis unit

  • Check body temperature before and after dialysis sessions

  • Encourage individual transport to-and-from sessions

  • Use full PPE when testing, when caring for PUIs and when caring for confirmed cases

  • Perform hand hygiene before and after contact with any patient

Communication
  • Inform staff of symptoms or exposure in advance of arrival to dialysis unit

  • Inform team leader if symptomatic or positive exposure

Isolation
  • Stay home if unwell

  • Self-isolate when not at dialysis

  • Dialyze symptomatic patients in separate isolation room, shift or center

  • Stay home if unwell

  • Designated isolation staff/shifts
